Investigator / Photographer / Co-Case Manager

Hailing from fast-paced New York City, Amber has been enjoying the Los Angeles weather (and, to a lesser extent, the earthquakes) since 1999. She's an Administrative Assistant for one of the largest wine companies in the world.

Her interest in the paranormal began at an early age and grew steadily as she experienced situations and events that could not be readily explained by conventional means. In fact, she believes she lived with the spirit of a man in her New York apartment for the nearly 10+ years she was there. She wasn't the only one to have experienced strong paranormal phenomena in that apartment, but every roommate and guest she invited over, including the hard core skeptics, did as well. It wasn't until 1998 that, when the spirit was assisted in traveling to the 'other side' by spiritual advisors, the phenomena ceased.

During this time, she amassed a large library of research books on the paranormal: ghosts, hauntings, mythology, occult, demonology, and superstitions, and she studied all of them in a quest for answers. Her interest in the paranormal led her to become active in the searching and visiting of reputed haunted locations. From famous cemeteries in New Orleans to abandoned ruins of old houses in Texas to churches in New York, City to cemeteries in Berlin, Germany, her research and investigations taught her a lot about the paranormal. Her strong fascination and quest for knowledge of the paranormal led her to help create the Los Angeles Paranormal Research Group (LAPRG).

Although she's a strong believer in the paranormal due to her personal experiences, she prefers to rule out all mundane possibilities before considering phenomena paranormal.

Denyse

Contact DenyseContact Denyse

Investigator/ Researcher Denyse is a native of Illinois, just outside of Chicago. Although she has lived in California for 14 years, Illinois will always be her home. Denyse has worked for the Probation Department at Juvenile Hall in California for the last five years. Before the probationary job, she worked at an emergency veterinary clinic for eight years, and, before that, at a bank for five years. She has a BA degree in Psychology and a Master's degree in Forensic Science.

Denyse has had a weird obsession with death for time eternal. She has always wanted to know what happens "after" physical death. She has researched phenomena such as past life regression, various religions, and the paranormal. She wants proof before she will believe, however.

She has had a few things happen to her that she can't explain, and she has a passion to learn more. Although a supporter of scientific research, she realizes that some things just can't be explained by conventional science and our five human senses. Denys' expertise in psychology and forensics brings to the LAPRG a skill set that is substantially beneficial.

Kim

Contact KimContact Kim

Sensitive/Investigator Kim's parents first learned she had the 'sight' for the first time when she woke up on Thanksgiving Day and proceeded to put a band aid on her hand. When her mother asked if she cut herself, she said, "No, just that she needed it." Just moments after removing the band aid, her father approached them in the bathroom, stating he needed a band aid. He had cut himself in the exact place Kim had placed the band aid on her hand.

Kim's life has played out this type of strange behavior ever since. She once awoke to inform her mother that her grandfather had come to her and told her that he would miss her and not to be sad. That, in and of itself, would not seem so strange except that her grandfather was in a nursing home in Valentine, Nebraska, and she was in Utah. Later that day, her family received news that her grandfather had passed away sometime during the night.

Also, a girl she went to school with came to her in the middle of the night and asked her to forgive the way the girl treated her in school. Kim, not even asking what the girl was doing in her room in the middle of the night, didn't even think about how she got in the house. After telling her dream (if it was a dream) to another friend she had gone to school with and who also knew the girl, the friend relayed the information she had received in a phone call not even an hour before that the girl and her boyfriend had been killed that night when their truck had gone over a cliff and into the canyon.

Although Kim has no control over her clairvoyance, she has had success with psychometry. She was able to put her skills to use with the police department, helping to narrow down and pin-point specifics in cases, helping them come to a close. And although she can't see dead people, Kim does have the ability to feel the energy, or confusion of energy, given off by an entity. Kim has been actively participating in various paranormal endeavors for over twenty years now.nt>

May

May

Contact MayContact May

Co-Case Manager / Investigator / Researcher A recent west-coast transplant, May joined the LA scene from Maryland four years ago and moved in with her best friend Amber. With a life-long love and interest of all things outside the norm, May comes from a long line of sensitives on her mother's side and non-believers on her father's.

While accepting of the many ideas and theories behind the paranormal, from personal and shared experiences, May also brings to the group a healthy dose of skepticism thanks to her dad's influence of a see-it-to-believe-it attitude towards the paranormal. Her background in criminal justice studies mixed with a love of mysteries helps her to find a balance between the scientific and paranormal phenomena that accompanies her day-to-day experiences.

When not working as an administrative assistant during the day, May can be found behind her computer, either working on her latest story with Amber or researching the paranormal. May is an excellent investigation logger and planner. She brings to the group a skill set and experience that is greatly beneficial.
